Call of The Beyond
by Derek

Its eyes are cascades of vermillion fire . . .
Its mouth a razored smile of broken glass . . .
Its voice an unending chorus of war, of hate . . .
And through its hands must all the worlds pass.

It is the Harbinger of Doom . . .
It is the Overseer of the Wastes . . .
It is the Forger of Eternal Gloom . . .
The Butcher of human, inhuman, tastes.

Once, I chanced upon its form . . .
As it lay smiling, and naked, in wait . . .
And, oh what glory, the sheer blasphemy . . .
Of this Thing, tempting me to my fate.

Its words were of honey and bitter ashes . . .
touch, the vile and subtle caress of an eel.
Unaware, our lips were joined--the darkest kiss--
that would the pact of sweet Oblivion reveal.

With hand clasped in tendril we made the descent . . .
the long departure of past, present and future time.
And there I lay, stripped of all substance, and of self,
engorged of horrors and splendors, surreal, sublime.

Our eyes are cascades of vermillion fire . . .
Our mouths razored smiles of broken glass . . .
Our voices unending choruses of war, of hate . . .
And through our hands must all the worlds pass.
This is just another piece based on a dream I had recently. I tried to capture the images of it as best I could, but the end (progressing?) results fell short of my expectations. I'll probably re-work it at some point, but for now, it is what it is.

You did a great job on this you deserve way more faves! Sometimes when I read poetry it seems sortof cheesy, but this is very well thought up and it has a lot more feeling to it that other pieces. Well done!
